Turn of the Tide
Arctic Frontiers is a catalyst for decision-making and network building by mobilizing key voices of science, policy, business, and local Arctic communities, to rapidly turn knowledge into actions.
From February 2–5, 2026, the Arctic city of Tromsø will host the 20th anniversary of Arctic Frontiers, a flagship international conference that bridges science, policy, business, and local communities. This year’s theme, “Turn of the Tide,” reflects the profound transformations shaping the Arctic and the world—from accelerating climate systems and shifting geopolitical landscapes to economic recalibration and cultural resurgence.
Why “Turn of the Tide”?
The Arctic is both a witness to and a driver of global change. Rising temperatures, fragile coastlines, and evolving governance structures demand interdisciplinary solutions. The conference aims to explore how the Arctic can influence, adapt to, and help shape the global future
