Arctic Phi-Lab is looking for groundbreaking projects that leverage space technologies for Arctic needs. Whether you’re an academic researcher, a startup, or part of an established company, this is an opportunity to develop and commercialize disruptive innovations with real socio-economic impact.
Successful applicants will receive:
- Funding opportunities between 200.000 up to 500,000 EUR.
- Support in project planning, commercialization, and intellectual property management.
- Access to technical expertise, networks and facilities.
What Kind of Projects Are We Looking For?
Your project should be based on solid research and demonstrate market potential. We are particularly interested in solutions related to:
- Environmental monitoring, resource management, and security.
- Communication, navigation, and information systems for the Arctic.
- Advanced sensor technology and satellite-based applications.
- Renewable energy solutions, including offshore wind farms.
- Ice navigation tools using real-time satellite imagery.
Your idea should either:
Utilize space technology in new ways (spin-off), or introduce innovations from other industries into the space sector (spin-in).
Who Can Apply?
The call is open to companies, research institutions, and consortia registered in an ESA Member State, Associate Member, or European Cooperating State. Non-Norwegian entities may apply if their project includes Norwegian collaboration or benefits Norway directly. At least 70% of the total project costs must be allocated to Norwegian entities.

- Cover Letter and Requirement Checklist
- Research Proposal (Executive Summary, R&D Plan, and Activity Plan)
- Draft Research Contract
